Lil’ Tan Tan’s had a rough 24 hours.
Yesterday, she fell in the driveway and got her first boo-boo.
I almost cried.

Then, today, some kid tried to eat her for lunch. :(
First she got her elbow…

And then she took a chunk out of her neck!!!

It was all I could do to not cry when I picked her up.
I just feel so bad for her…
And it’s not like there’s anybody you can be angry at; it was another baby who bit her.
What would I do if Tanner was the aggressor? It’s not like she really knows what’s going on.
If she bit me, I’d bite her back, but of course they can’t bite back at school.
Idk. Very sad.
In the meantime, Nick’s working on teaching her an Ultimate-Fighter-style chokehold.
That’ll teach’em.

It was so exciting to meet LV Hanson from the Catalyst Road Trip this morning at theVine! LV met us about 8am and visited with the staff & volunteers, and then joined us for the 9:30 service. Fun times. It made me even more excited about the Catalyst Conference!

The K-dawg thought the van was pretty pimped-out as well.

Thanks for coming all the way to Braselton, LV! :)

Randomness, Seeing Jesus 11:26 am

I saw the coolest story on ESPN this morning…
Georgia Linebacker Rennie Curran’s family is from Liberia, and his parents work tirelessly and send 50% of their earnings back to Liberia to help family members in need. Rennie was an outstanding football player at Brookwood High School, but his parents knew they couldn’t afford to send him to college. One Sunday Rennie’s father took his entire paycheck and laid it on the altar, gave it to God and begged Him to multiply it so he could send his son to school. The very next week Mark Richt called and offered Rennie a full scholarship to play football at the University of Georgia!!!

Guess they took this for real:
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. Malachi 3:10

Awesome!

Doing Church, Worship Design, Tech Nerds Are Cool 7:32 pm

Creative Chaos. Check it….
This week we’re starting a new series called Why The Vine.
We wanted the graphic & video package to represent the church as much as possible, so we decided to take a couple hundred pictures of people at our church. I took the pictures, and Gregg made them into the graphic.

We also wanted a bumper video to use for the series that somehow communicated our vision. We found this video about the vision of Kaiser Permanente, and it was kind of a jumping off point for our brainstorming.

We made a list of all of our core values, and what those core values looked like lived out in real life. We collectively wrote a script. Then, Laura and I took pictures representing those things (plus 2 stock photos,) and Gregg made this kickin’ video….I think it’s pretty awesome :)

What do you think?

Authenticity, Parenting, RandomnessSeptember 14, 2008 10:11 pm

the inventor of these delicious little entrees was a genius.
i keep thinking something must be “wrong” with them, but they have no hydrogenation or high fructose corn syrup…so they’ve got to be better than some of the alternatives. sometimes it just seems like i have nothing to feed the baby, or she’s ready to eat and we’re not. for example, tonight she was pulling on her high chair and making the “more” sign at 5:30. we were planning to eat, but at 6:30, not 5:30. Lil’ Entrees to the rescue…

what do you feed your kid when you’re in a hurry?
