We’d like to introduce you to…
our SON.

We’re already in awe of him. Today at the perinatologist they zoomed in on his heart…you could see all four chambers, the major veins, the directions of bloodflow…and I couldn’t help but thinking how amazing hearts are, not only physically, but in the fact that Jesus will live in his heart as well. The physical and spiritual are so intricately and mysteriously intertwined. I’d been excited before, but as we watched the doctor count his individual fingers and toes, and check all of his organs, and show us his perfect little lips and nose and face, and as we watched him swallow…I was amazed. Speechless. Not only that God creates life, but that He does it with such precision, and that He’s entrusted us to take care of His precious little boy. BOY. Haha. Not sure what to do with a boy, but I’m looking forward to figuring it out! We are so very thankful…
And so are his big sisters!!!

i thought Katelynn was asleep. but no… she was hiding in her room, painting her nails for the Inauguration.

i used to paint my toes every night in high school…to match my outfit for the next day.
We had a great weekend chilling with grandparents while Nick was out of town with the Youth Group. He had an awesome time and was so impressed with their spiritual maturity! He said the worship experience was incredible.
One thing we did while he was gone was make this yummy recipe.
I also bought one of these at the mall. If you’re pregnant, it’s a must-have. I can’t believe I waited ’til the third kid to get one; I was totally missing out!
I realize this is nerdy, but I’m excited about watching all the Inauguration media tomorrow. I heart news. Especially cable news.
And now…I’m going to try to convince Nick to choose a name. Wish me luck!
life’s been running away with us. here’s a glimpse of what we’ve been up to…
first of all, tomorrow (Friday the 16th) is Receipt Day at Chick-fil-A Hamilton Mill. can i get a heck yeah? go ahead and get your CFA on and save your receipt for free food later. make dave ramsey proud
(i mean, if there’s any cash in your food envelope!)

Tanner and Maddox got in a fight. Tanner won. I’m afraid that one’s gonna cost me. Good thing she’s cute.

While we’re on that topic, if you have a Mac (McCall! yeay!) use this program. It’s the bomb; it’s free, and it allows me to manage my input instead of allowing input to manage me. Boo-yeah!
We’ve been getting Nick ready to chaperone the youth trip for four days….including some protein-based travel food. (He’s riding with Pat. Go figure.)

I’ve been daydreaming about this room a lot. I’m hoping to know tomorrow if we’ll be painting it pink or green.

Don’t worry, those dead animals will vacate the premises before the baby arrives…Tanner thinks they’re cows and she “moos” at them. They don’t moo back.
And last but not least, trying to enjoy Braselton even though we’re not at home much. Here’s a picture of a recent sunset. It’s gorgeous out here…you can even see the stars at night! (But watch out for the neighborhood bobcat!)

The K-Dawg is incredible in the kitchen. She recently told Nick & I that she wants to go to culinary school and become a chef, and we don’t doubt that she’d be great at it! Apparently her hours and hours of watching Food Network are paying off. Tonight she helped make Chicken Pot Pie, and made phenomenal Pecan Pies all by herself. We doubled both recipes, so it was a great opportunity to practice fractions! She’s so smart and talented, and her pie was delicious! I’m proud of her. ![]()

but we had fun, nonetheless.
