the funniest thing i’ve seen in a LONG time!
Tanner calls herself “Nanner.”
When I saw this commercial today, I laughed for at least 10 minutes.
Enjoy!

This seems like a long time ago, yet just yesterday all at the same time…

And now she’s all grown up:

Katelynn turned 9 today, and we celebrated by taking her bowling with her friends. It’s crazy to us that she’s that old. She is such a blessing to our family. She is the most intelligent, creative, helpful, generous, witty, caring, hilarious, talented daughter, not to mention a phenomenal big sister, and we are so thankful that we get to be her parents! It’s incredible to watch God molding her into a young lady with a heart for Him, and tonight I’m praying that He’ll continue to make her into who He wants her to be and give her a passion for making Him known. My favorite thing about Katelynn is her heart for the least, and the way she wants to give so generously…it’s inspiring to us and to others. Happy Birthday, K-Dawg! We love you and we are very proud of you!
(Or, as Tanner would say, “Happy Day!” “Happy Day!”) ![]()

All I wanted for Valentine’s Day was for us to spend time together. So, after Nick surprised me with beautiful hot pink tulips, we headed to Chick-fil-A for heart shaped biscuits.

I’m not sure what happened, but all of the sudden the K-dawg looks 16. Goodness. Tanner loved flirting with her daddy while eating some chicken nuggets. In the second picture she wanted to show you how she was eating like a big girl! haha

We always love eating breakfast with the grandparents. One of the funniest things was when the sweet little Hispanic lady who works there (and is apparently BFF with my mom b/c they eat there every Saturday and my mom talks to random people) said, “Oh! This your son? He come here everyday.” Mmmhmm. So that’s why he leaves so early…

Later that night I cooked dinner for Nick: Alfredo from scratch with Grilled Chicken and Portabella Mushrooms. Yummy. It was a LOVEly day. ![]()

Here’s a glimpse of one of my responsibilities at The Vine….Vine Production is off the chain! what-what. Seriously, the people on our team work so tirelessly and selflessly…
I love them. Check it:

The baby party.
Tanner’s first Valentine’s party, to be precise. She had a ball.
What organic kid wouldn’t love a day where she got apple juice, cookies, “cheeeeps,” AND gummy candy? Here she is sharing her kiwi, and then thinking, “is mom really going to let me eat this cookie?!?”

She had fun distributing Valentines to her friends,

Hugging Miss Debbie,

And saying, “Candy! Candy! Candy!” Apparently the kid likes Sweettart heart gummies. And she wanted to share!

She was very excited that big sister and daddy came to the party, too!

And I was reminded, once again, that Katelynn’s practically a grown-up. Her head barely fit through the table where Tanner sits!

We had a great time. For 35 minutes. And I seriously have no idea how those teachers do that all day! EIGHT one-year-olds. Goodness.
We’re ready and waiting! I’m not sure why I love Valentine’s Day so much….probably because of all the opportunities for glitter and sprinkles. Katelynn’s excited too, and she made a bag to carry her Valentines in tonight.

I’m taking fruit to the one-year-old party, so it was fun making that themed. ![]()

Tanner got in on the fun by helping make cards for her friends! She kept giggling while we brushed paint on her hands; it was precious.

Today was a beautiful day for a photo shoot. Tanner thinks she’s a princess in her tutu; she wore it all day and refused to take it off! Absolutely precious.

Custom tutus available here…
8-year-olds should come with instruction manuals
Remember when K asked me how Jamie Lynn Spears got preggo and I told her to never sleep in the bed with a boy, and left it at that?
Today we went to see a new baby at the hospital and she said something about “when they have another one…” I responded, “I think this is the last one; they’re done.”
K: “How do you know?”
Me: stalling… (Do I explain birth control?)
K: “I mean, how can you control what you do in your sleep? You could just roll over and be facing daddy while you’re asleep and not know it and then wah-lahh.”
Me: “Um…K…it takes a little more than accidentally brushing up against someone to make a baby.”
Maybe she took my Jamie Lynn Spears explanation at face value?
Oh goodness.
Tanner sure does like baths!
The silliest things make her laugh.
