Tanner emerges from the bathroom, smiling…
Tanner: “Elmo had to go potty!”
Nick: “Tanner, why is Elmo’s bottom wet?”
Tanner: “I put him in the ter-let. He hadda go potty.”
Nick: “Oh. Well let’s not do that any more.”
— 5 minutes pass —
In runs Tanner again…
Nick: “Tanner, why are Elmo’s arms wet now?”
Tanner: “Daddy, Elmo warshed his hands!”
Nick: “Oh. Awesome.”
Hope Elmo can swim!
If the stylist accidentally scratches your two-year-old’s neck with the scissors during a haircut, you’re done. The incident occured about 30 seconds after this picture was taken, she pitched a fit for a good 30 minutes, and we left. With a half haircut. Oh well…it just wasn’t our day. But I’m sure the other 10 parents in the waiting room enjoyed watching my kid’s hysterics. Um, not.
This lesson is for parents. If the toddler falls asleep, just keep driving. It’ll be well worth your tank of gas.

Nick turned 28 on Wednesday, and he’s so cool he got TWO birthday cakes!
Tanner was stoked about singing “Happy Day” to her daddy, and Katelynn made him a cookie cake all by herself! And Jaxson…just looked cute. 
Happy Birthday, Nick!
At every stage Nick and I think, this age is our favorite. However, 2 is really funny. It’s so fun (and challenging) to watch Tanner’s personality develop, and see how she interacts with the family. It’s usually precious. And sometimes precarious. But always entertaining. Here are some of her favorite phrases:
“Me went potty!!! I so prouda you, mommy!” (I think she’s anticipating me being proud of her, but she also congratulates me when I go.)
“No my does it, my does it.” (She says “My does it” at least 100 times a day.)
“Go pool right now. Please.” (She’s very clear about what she wants to do and when!)
“Need a pink hairbow!!!” (That’s the very first thing she says when she wakes up.)
“Wake up two minutes.” (What she means is that she’s been awake for two minutes, but it’s hilarious.)
“That’s decisious!” (Too much Food Network, perhaps?)
And one of the funniest things has to do with pronunciation. For some reason, she says “milk,” “head,” “hot,” and “nice” with two syllables. Are we that redneck? (don’t answer that; it was rhetorical.)
